“The whole community should be behind this organization,” said MP Lloyd Longfield. “It’s an important need in our community.”
“This symbolizes the wonderful work we can do” when levels of government work together, said MPP Liz Sandals.
“It’s a safe, affordable home life for moms and their babies. So often you don’t just need the housing, you need the support,” said Sandals.
County of Wellington Warden Dennis Lever called it a place that “helps individuals in our community reach their potential” and Mayor Cam Guthrie said Michael House offers “peace, dignity and safety.”
“It’s more than just a roof over their heads,” Guthrie said.

An Angel Donor believes in the work of Michael House, and generously commits to donating to our programs on a monthly basis. Angels are a special part of the Michael House family, and provide us with stable funding we can count on.
Here is what one of our devoted Angels shared about Emily’s Place:
“During my many years of having been associated with Michael House, it was always a hope to someday be in a position to have a follow-up program for moms after the birth of their baby. Our philosophy is to provide strong support to pregnant women, but in addition continue to support women and their babies in their challenging role as parents. The first requirement meant adequate housing, and thus also provide helpful programs such as life skills, parenting support, education, employment assistance. All this came about 5 years ago with achieving the present living facility. Many new mothers have become healthy, successful parents. We are rightfully proud of being partners in this wonderful process”.
