The Dining Series – Virtual Authentic Brazilian Cooking Class

Join us online on Sunday February 25th from 4:30 – 6pm!

We will be doing a virtual, interactive and educational cooking class with a Chef from Sao Paulo Brazil.
One week before the class, you will be sent (through email) the Zoom link, and detailed list of ingredients for you to purchase ahead of time.

Chef Mariana Pelozio will be guiding us through the process of making Baiao de Dois (Brazilian Beans and Rice with Bacon). This is a staple meal in every Brazilian household. For dessert, we will be learning to make Brigadeiro (Chocolate Fudge Truffles). A party in Brazil would not be complete without having these as part of the menu. (Especially for children’s Birthday parties).

The cost is $42 per computer connection. Proceeds from the Dining Series fundraisers support the mothers, children and programs at Michael House.

Meet The Chef!

Meet Chef Mariana Pelozio from Sao Paulo Brazil. Here is Mariana’s bio…
“I discovered that I was a cook when I was 9 years old after finding my grandma’s cookbook. I immediately made a spinach souffle. And, on that day, I understood that cooking was what I most enjoyed doing. However, life has its surprises and when I realized I had a passion for cooking, I had already graduated in Administration and Marketing, going crazy with emails and wearing high-heels for meetings. But a dream, is a dream, encouraged by my husband, I dropped everything and threw myself happy among pans and spices. I graduated from Senac in the International Chef Cook course and discovered a little more of my country’s cuisine in a post-graduate course in Brazilian Cuisine. My mix comes from my Northeastern and Italian roots. Passion, history, family … I bring all this to the dishes of the Restaurant Duas Terezas where I am a Chef. I have participated in cooking competitions on television and love creating new dishes while still embracing the traditional dishes from my home and family!”
